Nietzsche is thought to have once said that without music, life would be a mistake. Whether or not he actually said that, it is hard to disagree. But if that is true, without playing music, life would be an even bigger mistake. Having been raised listening to classical music, having attended a music school and having started playing the drums when I was still very young, music is just a part of me that transcends being merely a hobby. And so here I am, at the peak of my music career                          at one of their Innocence tours a few years ago. If you wonder how that happened, you would be surprised by the answer: I just asked them!

My current top 5

One day I will break down each of these songs and analyse them... But for the meantime, here is my current top 5:

  • LCD Soundsystem - All My Friends

  • The Waterboys - The Whole of The Moon

  • Meatloaf - I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)

  • Sam Fender - Seventeen Going Under

  • U2 & Johnny Cash - The Wanderer

Silver Lining

In my free time (mostly weekends to be fair), I play the drums in an alternative rock band called Silver Lining (formerly The Holyrooders) which was formed in 2018 in Edinburgh in the neighborhood of Holyrood (hence our old name). We are currently working on our debut album, which will come out sometime in 2024. While we get ready to hit the charts, why don't you listen to some of our old songs?

'A very classic and enjoyable EP, with a sentimental heart'
